My name is Graham Attwell - I work for Pontydysgu who are a partner in this project and along with Dave Tosh, I have some responsibility for developing the content on this site.

We are still trying to figure out how best to use the different open source tools this platform provides us. What is the difference between a web log and news items? What is the purpose of the links area? Who is allowed to do what on this site (as usual an argument between myself - who wants everyone to be able to do everything and the poor buggers who maintain the site and are worried about what the results might be - I don’t think I have helped my argument by creating two different accounts with different user names and have screwed up the permissions before we have begun!)).

I guess it will all work out in practice.

Anyway the way I see it, the news section is for short articles - unsurprisingly mainly news and announcements - and this section is for more considered pieces of thinking or polemic in the field of open source, open content and op-en learning.

I do not intend writing them all - you will be glad to know. The Bazaar project has five partners and we intend to ask for a regularish contribution form each of them. But we also want contributions for a wider range of correspondents. Yes - thats you. So if you have something to say on any of these topics - want to put forward an opinion or just argue an idea - please do get in touch with me - Graham Attwell on attwell@uni-bremen.de.

We are also looking for multi media and creative contributions. provide us a cartoon or video. Or a podcast. Or good photos and music. We want it all.

We will be launching a regular (fortnightly at first) newsletter in the next few weeks.

And I am hoping to produce a weekly podcast which you can access here at the Bazaar.
