George - having each SME working as both content expert and ID resource would not speed up the process; and the project would still require an ID plan/manager to ensure the pieces fit together as a whole. Any approach to rapid e-learning is best based on the concept of rapid prototyping, so that the process of development is sped up. Cutting the ID out of the process and downloading the "expertise" onto the SME will not, in my opinion, produce rapid results.
